1. PAL is mandatory and updated PGWP-Eligible Program List✅

IRCC has introduced the Provinces’ Attestation Letter (PAL) requirement to regulate study permit issuance.

Moreover, Only programs and institutions that appear on the official PGWP-eligible list will allow international students to qualify for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) after completing their studies.

🧾 What This Means for You:

·Before applying, you must confirm your college or university is on the approved PGWP list.

·Without this, you may be ineligible for a work permit after graduation.

2. Bachelor’s & Master’s Level Programs: 🎓 

Great news! Students enrolling in eligible bachelor’s or master’s programs are still eligible for up to 3 years of PGWP after graduation.

💼 Bonus: If you’re married or in a common-law relationship, your spouse may also be eligible for an open work permit while you study.

3. Free Education for Dependent Children: 🧒 

Children under the age of 18 can study for free in Canadian public schools while a parent is enrolled in a PGWP-eligible program and holds a valid study permit.

This is a huge financial benefit for families relocating together.

4. DLI Change Rules Are Now Stricter:🚫 

Students can no longer change Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) freely after receiving a study permit.

🔄 If you wish to change schools, you’ll be required to submit a new study permit application, even if you’re still within your current permit’s validity period.
